Kermit D. Bright, P.E.
President and Principal in Charge
In his 47th year with Structural Engineering Associates, Inc., Mr. Bright is leading SEA with a wealth of engineering expertise. Mr. Bright has 33 years of experience in structural engineering for numerous types of structures, including steel, cast-in-place concrete, wood and precast concrete.
A primary focus of Mr. Bright’s practice over the past decade has been, and continues to be, building additions and renovations. From his extensive research on the cause of structural deterioration, Mr. Bright is responsible for pioneering state-of-the-art repair procedures.
Leading SEA into the future built environment, Mr. Bright understands the necessity to work closely with architects, developers and owners to achieve the goals set forth by the project program.
G. Kelley Gipple, P.E.
Senior Vice President and Director of Design
As Director of Design, Mr. Gipple oversees the design of various facility types, including industrial facilities, corporate office buildings and parking structures. This experience includes the use of various construction materials, including structural steel, masonry, wood, cast-in-place post tensioned concrete, and precast concrete structural systems.
Mr. Gipple understands the necessity to work closely with the architect and owner to achieve the goals set forth by the project program. This includes clear and open communication and the development of design options which address not only the functional and aesthetic goals of the project, but also financial goals and scheduling.
Mr. Gipple recently provided structural design services for the new Bloch Building at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City.
Ralph C. Jones, P.E.
Senior Vice President and Director of Field Services
With 26 years of experience in the engineering field, Mr. Jones offers an expert approach to each project. His background in structural design, field observation, testing, building renovation and structural investigations lends a unique perspective to any restoration, renovation or special inspection project.
Mr. Jones’ experience includes projects for universities, developers, property managers and building and garage owners. From sealing stadium bleacher seating to restoring concrete slabs in a parking garage, each project is tackled with solutions that are tailor-made for the stucture.
As principal in charge of restoration services, Mr. Jones develops cost-effective solutions for clients’ long-term budgets and planning needs. For example, the University of Missouri-Columbia (MU) has worked with Mr. Jones for numerous years on an indefinitely delivery contract for facility restoration, maintenance and annual structural inspections and testing.
Krishna G. Saha, P.E.
Senior Vice President and Director of Specifications
Mr. Saha has 24 years of varied structural engineering experience, including 23 years with SEA. His experience includes design of new buildings, analysis, renovation, evaluation and seismic retrofit of existing buildings, research and development and field observation.
His portfolio includes a variety of structure types, such as cast-in-place concrete, precast concrete, structural steel, wood, aluminum and masonry. This experience has been applied to various structure types, including educational, office; commercial, hospitals, parking garages, and community centers.
As Director of Specifications, Mr. Saha is responsible for providing current information on various products to the SEA staff. He is also responsible for organizing and conducting continuing education technical seminars for all SEA engineers.
Mr. Saha was the project manager for the new Saint Luke's Hospital in Lee's Summit, Mo. He has also provided design services for several schools in the Blue Valley School District. |
